About Whatsnew

[ Application aimed to run on "24.04-1.x" will probably not work well on other versions ]

This app aims to offer Whatsapp web inside a newer web engine in order to allow Audio calls to be made, thanks to an electron application.

Supports:

- Audio calls, but audio quality may vary ( you currently need to enable "Beta" in whatsapp web to have calls )
- Sending and receiving text messages
- Notifications when keeping the app open
- Import / Export attachments via ContentHub
- Sending and receiving audio messages
- Open URL externally via URLdispatcher

Current limitations:
- No copy and paste with other apps.
- You can only upload files one by one.
- No access to the camera so no video calls possible.

Note: You can only pin the application to the launcher while you are exporting a file through contentHub.

WARNING: if you allow the app to access the microphone, at the moment whatsapp can in theory access your microphone at any moment when the app is open, even when your phone is suspended and the screen is off. Though there is currently no sign of unauthorized access to the microphone coming for whatsapp outside of recording audio message, or calling. You can always revoke the microphone authorization within the system settings, and enable it only when you need to use it!

- Calibrate keyboard height so that message edit area displays well on top of the keyboard in all cases
- Fix scaling of "Medias" panel (added recently by whatsapp)

Audio calls do work! Hearing the other person has a slight delay and small interruptions but it is usable. Currently this is the only way to have whatsapp web in UT. Many, many thanks!
